The head of government of Mexico City, Clara Brugada, expressed to Copred officials that differences should not be a reason for exclusion, but a strength for society. She emphasized that discrimination is a crime that will not be tolerated in the city and that it is necessary to punish and train those police officers who maintain discriminatory practices.

In response to a case of aggression against a trans woman by officials in Alameda Central, Brugada reiterated her firm stance against transphobia in her administration and assured that those responsible for this act will be brought to justice. She stressed that intolerance and discrimination will not be allowed in Mexico and in Mexico City.

Clara Brugada detailed that her government is guided by respect and dialogue with the trans community, as well as by respect for human rights in all governmental actions. Furthermore, she committed to working together with civil society to guarantee the rights of all individuals in the LGBTTIQ+ community.
